About the role
We are seeking a dedicated BESD Specialist to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) team in Bedford. In this role, you will work closely with students who experience Behavioral, Emotional, and Social Difficulties. Your expertise will be crucial in developing individualized education plans, implementing effective interventions, and providing support to both students and staff to create an inclusive learning environment. As a BESD Specialist, you will collaborate with educators, parents, and external agencies to assess student needs and promote their academic and personal growth. You will play a vital role in training staff on best practices for supporting students with BESD, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing setting. This is a long-term, permanent contract ideal for someone with a Master's degree and mid-senior level experience in special education.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Proven experience working with students with Behavioral, Emotional, and Social Difficulties
- Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement effective behavior management strategies
- Experience in training and supporting staff in SEN practices
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
