About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) to join our team in Bedford. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of effective support strategies for students with special educational needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Collaborating with educators, parents, and external specialists, you will assess individual needs and track student progress, fostering their academic and personal growth. As a SENCo, you will be responsible for training staff on SEN policies and best practices, as well as ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the overall educational experience of our students, and you will play a key role in shaping our SEN provision for the better.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Special Education or related field
  • Proven experience as a SENCo, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
